3 Causes of thrombosis

Thrombosis is not something to be trifled with. It occurs when a blood clot forms in a blood vessel, which can lead to serious health problems. Understanding the causes of thrombosis is the first step in preventing and treating this condition.

Today we would like to look at three common causes of thrombosis:

-> A disturbed blood flow
If the blood flows too slowly through the blood vessels, the risk of thrombosis increases. This occurs not only as a result of sitting for long periods or being confined to bed, but also in the case of cardiac insufficiency or varicose veins.

-> Medications
In particular, medications containing hormones such as estrogen. Certain contraceptives or hormone replacement therapies can therefore also increase the risk of thrombosis.

-> Chronic
inflammatory diseases Diseases such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis can promote the development of blood clots. This is because the inflammatory processes can alter the coagulation of the blood.
