Lymphatic drainage - then it makes sense!

Our body is just awesome, a true marvel. We have 3 systems that are responsible for the transport of fluids: Venous, arterial & lymphatic system.

Let's take a closer look at the lymphatic system today. It's a bit of a workaholic. Every day it transports around 3 liters of lymph (tissue fluid) through your body. But even a lymphatic system can be disturbed in its function. If this is the case, it needs some help in the form of lymphatic drainage. Manual lymphatic drainage is used for swelling caused by injury or surgery. The same applies to swelling caused by illness, where lymph accumulates in the tissues.

Gentle stroking along the lymphatic channels stimulates the accumulated fluid in the tissues to drain. By reducing swelling, it relieves pain and promotes the return of mobility after an injury.
