This is how you sleep properly!

Rest in sleep - who would not like that?

Unfortunately, however, many wake up in the morning already with pain in the neck or back.

The reason? A wrong position while sleeping!

The most important thing for a healthy sleep is the right pillow: Make sure it's not too high, but flat enough so that your head is in line with the rest of your spine. This should generally be the principle for your fall asleep position.

That's why the first thing to go is the prone position. In order to breathe, you have to turn your head to the side, which in turn causes the cervical spine to twist. In addition, the prone position also puts a lot of strain on the lumbar spine.

The ideal sleeping position is the supine position. The body lies in a straight line and the spine is optimally supported by the mattress and pillow.

But the side position with bent legs can also be good for you, especially if you tend to have a hollow back. The lumbar spine is thus slightly rounded and can recover well from a strenuous day on your feet.
